About

Hi, my name is Alistair. I moved to Grange-over-Sands in 2018 and set up AMF Dog Walking after spending the previous 18 months in Spain and France. During my time out of the UK I rescued a Mastine cross called Athos, who is with me now. I have been a dog owner all of my life and every one of the wonderful dogs I have had the privilege to care for over the years, have been rescued German Shepherds.

“A TOTAL OF 40 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE”

I have a total of 40 years’ experience working in animal welfare. I started as an animal carer (specifically with dogs) and became Shelter Manager at one of the country’s largest animal welfare shelters in Cambridgeshire. I then spent 17 years working for international animal welfare organisation, World Animal Protection (formally known as World Society for the Protection of Animals – WSPA) at their headquarters in London.

“THERE’S NOTHING MUCH THAT PHASES ME!”

My main focus was working with animal welfare groups and governments around the world, training and assisting with the implementation of humane animal welfare programmes for stray dogs, cats, working equines, livestock and poultry. I have worked in extreme conditions carrying out disaster relief work in floods, earthquakes, and warzones, in temperatures at both ends of the scale. There’s nothing much that phases me!

PERSONAL SERVICE

All dogs are looked after as if they were my own...

Apart from animal welfare, my two passions in life are the outdoors and my dogs. What better way to bring together my skills and experience than to provide a service that helps owners ensure their best four-legged friends are exercised daily. Clients can be assured that whilst in my care, their dogs will be looked after as my own.

As well as dog walking, I also offer a garden let out service should owners need to go out for the day or prefer to walk their dog themselves before or after their working day. Whatever your situation please get in touch for a free home consultation to discuss you and your dog’s requirements.
